Vacation rentals usually occur in private properties that is why  there are a lot of accommodations to choose from. Here are some types of vacation rentals that you might consider for your upcoming getaway.

Villa

Originally, villas are ancient Roman upper-class country house, but as times passed by, the term has also evolved. In United Kingdom, modern villas refer to high-quality detached mansions in warm destinations. In Australia, the term is used to describe a type of townhouse with 3-4 bedrooms. In New Zealand, villas are wooden weatherboard houses built before WW1.

Apartment

It is a self-contained type of residential unit that occupies a part of a building which normally without a stair. In British English it is more commonly known as a flat.  In Scotland, it is called a tenement especially if it is a traditional sandstone building.

Cottage

Cottages were originally a dwelling place for agricultural workers, their friends and families. But in this modern times, cottages are usually modest and cosy dwelling, found in rural or semi-rural location.

Townhome

Townhomes or townhouses are typically terraced. In Asia, Australia, and South Africa, townhomes generally have high security, resort facilities such as swimming pools, gyms, parks and playground equipment.

Condominium

More commonly known as condo, it is a type of real estate divided into units. In Singapore and Malaysia, condos have features like security guards, swimming pools or tennis courts. In the Philippines, it is classified into low-rise, mid-rise and high-rise.
