5 Essential Tips For Traveling Light

Some people have this view that traveling takes lots of time, effort, and dedication, not to mention the bravery to take the risk of getting out of one’s comfort zone, hence thinking that traveling is a hassle activity to do that ends in apathy and merely surviving.

eGetinnz has listed five pro tips to help you travel easily.

1. Carry-on only
Sticking to just a carry-on bag will change your life when you fly. You’ll quickly run through security, have access to your belongs at all times, and don’t have to wait at baggage claim, let alone risk losing your luggage. You’ll also be happy to be less of a target to thieves searching for their next disheveled and distracted tourist once you touch down.

2. Avoid a hold up a security
If you’re going to take your carry-on to make sure you do it right. Way too many people on the security line get their bag held up and double checked because they haven’t properly packed the suspicious looking items.

If you’re packing anything with a sharp shape or a large number of unusual objects, even if innocent, pack it in a Ziploc bag and place it in a bin when going through security. That way when that one TSA dude who’s never seen a bikini razor before (or a box of 500 badge chains, don’t ask) decides he wants to further inspect your life-threatening contraband, he won’t need to take out your undies in search of the “weapon”.

3. Embrace your hair and face
Skip the dramatic makeup and hair products and learn to accept your natural mug! Pack a quart-size bag with the just essentials: 3 oz. bottles of Clinique face lotion, apricot exfoliate 3-minute miracle deep conditioner and leave-in conditioner for my wild curls. Oh, and waterproof eyeliner is always a travel-friendly addition for the special nights.

4. Bring a collapsible water bag
Not a water bottle, but an anti-bottle. It’s my latest obsession: a water bottle constructed as flat plastic that you can empty and fold, allowing you to pass through security (and LIFE) with ease. Keep it rolled up when you’re not using it and fill your “bottle” at the water fountain when needed. Here’s my favorite anti-bottle made by Vapur …because we are all tired of getting our liquid beverage thrown away at security and having to buy the overpriced bottle of water at the terminal shop.

5. Shower with your laundry
Avoid bringing extra clothing or wasting money on laundry by washing your undergarments by hand. To make this task less daunting, Wash each time you get into the shower and let it dry overnight.

Ramen Kudasai: The Ramen House That Will Change the Way You Eat Ramen

The love for the original Chinese-Japanese cuisine, ramen, varies from one Asian country to another; it even transcends even to myriad countries in the west.  Ra that means pulled and Men means noodles, so it basically means that otherwise is not real ramen. Ramen Kudasai, despite its young age in the ramen market, is already on a pedestal that sets it apart from other ramen houses. This amazing baby ramen house has accomplished the first and major principle of ramen.

Hand pulled noodles, I mean just look.

Your eyesight does not lie either, it tastes the way it looks, and even better. The texture is perfectly made, it nearly melts in your mouth with the well-made broth too.

Ramen Kudasai makes every food on their menu, on the spot, and it is worth the wait. When you thought you have had the best ramen in the city, well, you have never tried this one.

Angel who is only 26 years old, is very hands-on with her newly established ramen house. With her doctor of a husband’s love for ramen, together, their brainchild was brought into existence. What they value the most is the authenticity of the food they serve and the improved taste of the ramen which was decided upon the Filipino’s palette as well, knowing that Filipinos still would have different taste buds from those of the Japanese and or Chinese, however, catering each with great original and modern flavors of ramen.

Ramen Kudasai is currently and solely located at 527 Melting Pot, Omega Ave, Quezon City. Where everyone from all walks of life would go back countless time to have the ever consistent delicious ramen of Ramen Kudasai. Whatever your reason why you love ramen, you might be sick and tired of real but instant ramens in the malls, or perhaps even if you have never tried the delicacy, Ramen Kudasai will change the way you look and eat ramen. In simpler terms, Ramen Kudasai changed the game. Some ramen houses need to re-think life.

Filipinos, Japanese, and Chinese alike go to Ramen Kudasai for their awestruck menu, which is great for the climate this time of the year and is also perfect for staycation season, where eGetinnz could help people find a home away from home.

Bali’s Eerie Beauty

Ghost tourism has been quite rampant and famous today and for most travel backpackers who seek unusual and thrilling activities and Indonesia is such a superstitious country making it one of the best places to go to for these travellers; stories of the past, myths, and folklore combined and Indonesia is basically unbeatable, from graveyards by the yard to ghost shipwrecks, haunted houses are just meh in Indonesia.

However, if you want to actually go to South Asia and visit Indonesia, we could provide you a place to stay at that is not haunted, check https://www.egetinnz.com/s/bali–indonesia/ChIJoQ8Q6NNB0S0RkOYkS7EPkSQ?&guests=1

The Bedugul Taman Hotel, or popularly known as the Ghost Palace Hotel was erected back in the 1990s and there is quite the number of stories as to why the hotel earned its namesake. The hotel definitely looks majestic, or it should have been one but today it is on top of a hill overlooking a lake, with all the fog clouding and hiding the supposedly great view, it could only add to the suspiciously haunting explanation why the hotel never saw daylight.

It is as if the Indonesian nature spirits really never forgave the people who bothered their peaceful territory, that is technically owned by Tommy Suharto, the son of the former Indonesian dictator General Suharto who was convicted and sent to prison in 2000 for murdering a judge. This was one belief explaining why the locals call this hotel cursed because Suharto was a corrupt and unjust person. The second theory says that the hotel did welcome guests and everyone just vanished the next morning, no sign of any life in the place, not the guests, or the hotel crew, nothing but their souls said to be lingering in the labyrinth-like corridors of Ghost Palace Hotel. Lastly, and the most ghoulish and morbid yet, is that story where the workers building the palace hotel ended up to be human sacrifices to appease the nature goddesses but it backfired when those betrayed souls were the ones who began haunting the place.DSC_0774

Whichever you pick to believe in, there are no certainty or documentation that says which is which, we could only cling to logic and sense, meanwhile, locals are just careful to avoid the place, even taxi drivers that take brave heart tourists up this hill cannot wait to drive away, and the guards on duty are most likely getting paid high digits of money to wave off any unnatural feeling on the back of their necks, if the heavy fog is not too much then perhaps the vibe would do the job to scare anyone away and attract other beings closer.DSC_0766

Any reasons why this place is a good spot for ghost tourism and photography are an understatement, the palace is huge and the architecture is of an eerie beauty. The serpents by the grounds seem to know something that people do not, and everything else just fit into a horror movie or documentary.

Who would want a serpent that big to welcome anybody? No one would be able to relax in this hotel even if it is not abandoned.

But perhaps it is not really meant for relaxation, but for something more, an art that is rarely understood by many but few.

Ghost Palace Hotel would give you a different kind of adrenaline that would make you feel alive amongst the opposite. If you would dare to experience it, although Ghost Palace Hotel is not listed with us, eGetinnz offers flexible options for you to choose from and might you be traveling for business, pleasure, or even an unnatural adventure like this.

10 Out of the Mainstream TV Shows You Can Binge Watch As You Travel

There are journey trips that could be spent on sight seeing, peeking through the glass window of the plane, maybe a bus, or even by the railings of a ship; but some trips may take longer than the usual. Here are a few good TV series aside from Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead that could help you pass time.

  1. Timeless, 2016 (NBC)

timeless

This show actually got uncancelled, the producers finally saw the potential of this low-key but amazing show. Compelling characters, unfolding plot, and perfected phenomenon of time travelling. The story is about Lucy, Wyatt, and Rufus trying to save the known history from bad people called the Rittenhouse who wants to change the course of the past. The paradox of time travelling has somehow been perfected by Timeless.

2. Sense 8 2015 (Netflix)

sense8-2-1024x576

Original story from the Wachowski brothers, they have filmed in over twenty countries and thirty cities. This sci-fi TV show is about eight individuals that share each other’s mind and consciousness. The story itself is already an art but its cinematography is the best thing about Sense8. This show developed a collective group of fanbase for its diversity and accurate representation which the smart audience hold dear. Sense8 is action-filled, with humor and genuine emotion on top. Sadly Netflix cancelled it after season 2 but due to the loud cry of the fans in social media particularly on Twitter, the producers were granted one last hurrah for the show. The epic finale is yet to come this year 2018.

3. Orphan Black 2013-2017 (BBC)

AA-orphanblack-thumbnail-s2-02-web1

Consistent all through out. Yes, it has already ended strong in season 5 but never was there a dull episode or even a moment in Orphan Black, all you need is to watch one episode to give it a try and you will find yourself with the roller coaster of a ride. Created by the masters John Fawcett and Graeme Manson, this show is about a Sarah Manning who witnessed a girl who look exactly like her jump in front of a train and later on took over her life, and  unknowingly discovers a major scientific conspiracy about their lives.

4. Altered Carbon 2018 (Netflix)

altered-carbon

An ingenious plot that was groomed by a gradual pacing of story-telling, the story is set in the far future where immortality is already within reach. Everyone has a stack located at the back of their necks, it downloads one’s mind and consciousness that even when the body perishes the person could still actually live. Takeshi was revived after centuries of his first death by a billionaire to investigate his own death.

5. The 100 2014 (CW)

pic_4105188

This show used to be great. The survival show of CW, it is not your typical post apocalyptic TV series where boy meets girl and another boy it was not that. The 100 (pronounced as The Hundred) was about 100 delinquent and prisoner teens sent off their spaceship to see if the Earth was again habitable after 97 years of nuclear war that destroyed the planet. Only to learn that humankind never really left.

6. Penny Dreadful 2014-2016 (Showtime)

Penny-Dreadful-poster

Penny Dreadful is a gothic masterpiece where all the dark classics have been mashed together. From the origins of Dracula to Dorian Gray, this story revolves around Vanessa Ives as a wicked and daunting force of evil is after her whole being. A character-driven story from the brilliant playwright and screenwriter, John Logan. This is not for the weak heart and shallow minds though, Penny Dreadful is dark but weirdly enough a breath of fresh air in the mainstream stories of television today.

7. Gotham 2014 (Fox)

FOX-Gotham-Casting-Call-777x437

DC has made a good choice about doing a prequel TV series of the Batman, origin stories of everybody in Batman is present. Fox’s Gotham might have strayed from the comics but the showmanship is overall great. With the James “Jim” Gordon as the center character, still a regular detective is on the pursuit of the mastermind behind Thomas and Martha Wayne’s deaths, while grooming young Bruce Wayne to be the dark knight Gotham will eventually need.

8. Black Mirror 2011 (Netflix)

black-mirror-logo

Probably the best anthology you will ever watch, created by Charlie Brooker, Black Mirror is a collection of one shots stories if not revolving around morals and realism, it is about the out of the box ideas about the technology we use and the unending possibilities of it. Black Mirror challenged every aspect of the future with its story telling but still managed to be about the characters rather than the phenomena.

9. Fear the Walking Dead 2015 (AMC)

Fear-the-Walking-Dead-Season-4-Key-Art-Header-Crop

The sister prequel show to the Walking Dead, it is years younger than the mainstream and original show but it is far different. It revolves around actual family trying to stay together amidst the apocalypse. The show began a bit slow but is getting better the longer it airs, character developments are compelling stories by and by and more zombies appear than ever.

10. Peaky Blinders

netflix-Peaky-Blinders

A gangster family epic set in 1919 Birmingham, England and centered on a gang who sew razor blades in the peaks of their caps, and their fierce boss Tommy Shelby, who means to move up in the world.
