Bali’s Eerie Beauty

Ghost tourism has been quite rampant and famous today and for most travel backpackers who seek unusual and thrilling activities and Indonesia is such a superstitious country making it one of the best places to go to for these travellers; stories of the past, myths, and folklore combined and Indonesia is basically unbeatable, from graveyards by the yard to ghost shipwrecks, haunted houses are just meh in Indonesia.

However, if you want to actually go to South Asia and visit Indonesia, we could provide you a place to stay at that is not haunted, check https://www.egetinnz.com/s/bali–indonesia/ChIJoQ8Q6NNB0S0RkOYkS7EPkSQ?&guests=1

The Bedugul Taman Hotel, or popularly known as the Ghost Palace Hotel was erected back in the 1990s and there is quite the number of stories as to why the hotel earned its namesake. The hotel definitely looks majestic, or it should have been one but today it is on top of a hill overlooking a lake, with all the fog clouding and hiding the supposedly great view, it could only add to the suspiciously haunting explanation why the hotel never saw daylight.

It is as if the Indonesian nature spirits really never forgave the people who bothered their peaceful territory, that is technically owned by Tommy Suharto, the son of the former Indonesian dictator General Suharto who was convicted and sent to prison in 2000 for murdering a judge. This was one belief explaining why the locals call this hotel cursed because Suharto was a corrupt and unjust person. The second theory says that the hotel did welcome guests and everyone just vanished the next morning, no sign of any life in the place, not the guests, or the hotel crew, nothing but their souls said to be lingering in the labyrinth-like corridors of Ghost Palace Hotel. Lastly, and the most ghoulish and morbid yet, is that story where the workers building the palace hotel ended up to be human sacrifices to appease the nature goddesses but it backfired when those betrayed souls were the ones who began haunting the place.DSC_0774

Whichever you pick to believe in, there are no certainty or documentation that says which is which, we could only cling to logic and sense, meanwhile, locals are just careful to avoid the place, even taxi drivers that take brave heart tourists up this hill cannot wait to drive away, and the guards on duty are most likely getting paid high digits of money to wave off any unnatural feeling on the back of their necks, if the heavy fog is not too much then perhaps the vibe would do the job to scare anyone away and attract other beings closer.DSC_0766

Any reasons why this place is a good spot for ghost tourism and photography are an understatement, the palace is huge and the architecture is of an eerie beauty. The serpents by the grounds seem to know something that people do not, and everything else just fit into a horror movie or documentary.

Who would want a serpent that big to welcome anybody? No one would be able to relax in this hotel even if it is not abandoned.

But perhaps it is not really meant for relaxation, but for something more, an art that is rarely understood by many but few.

Ghost Palace Hotel would give you a different kind of adrenaline that would make you feel alive amongst the opposite. If you would dare to experience it, although Ghost Palace Hotel is not listed with us, eGetinnz offers flexible options for you to choose from and might you be traveling for business, pleasure, or even an unnatural adventure like this.

Thailand’s Bizarre Shrine

On the east side of the Railay Bay is famous cave known for its wonderful stalactites and stalagmites. Since ancient times, Phra Nang (Princess) Cave or Phallus Cave in modern day has been where fishermen, before going out to sea, have made offerings to the symbolic Phallus of Shiva (known as the Siwaleung or Palad Khik in Thai). The fishermen, who say the cave is the home of a mythical sea princess, believe their offerings will bring them success in their fishing and protect them from danger, but what is more remarkable is that the cave contains a large collection of carved wooden phallic symbols, offerings and other objects believed to help with fertility.

As much as it is very bizarre and uncomfortable for many girls, the cave and shrine is still filled with tourists who are quite open to religious art no matter what the type. The cave is also surrounded with few other alternatives such the Narakeering cave in Amphur Priphaya.

FUN FACT: Siwaleung or Palad Khik, or small wooden penis is considered a common and famous amulet in Thailand, locals believe that it brings the wearer good luck, and helps avoid accident and illnesses.

As peculiar as Princess Cave may seem, this represents how Thailand is a very sexual and religious country at the same time, a rare combination as to how humanity embraces its inclinations and belief.

15 Best Places to Visit for the LGBTQ+

Traveling or leaping around the world for the LGBTQ is not that easy as one may seem, for the mundane it should not be a big of a deal, perhaps people who do not understand the struggles would assume that queer couples could be forced into the closest even while traveling, or while they are supposed to be out there, enjoying the world as anyone else.

There at least 77 countries that have declared LGBT communities illegal in their law, such countries closed both their homes and hearts to their fellow human being. Cases like these should not be taken lightly whereas there are incidents where the LGBT folks have been bullied, cast away, discriminated, and even murdered in hostile places.

With eGetinnz, everyone can find a home away from home, especially the rainbow unicorns that have been shied away for so long. Life is about more than just labels anyway, and one should travel and live to the fullest.

We have listed countries that are safe for these fabulous people to visit and to grace even more diversity.

New York

NY 5h Ave

New Yoooooork concrete jungle where dreams are made of, there’s nothing you can’t do.  So gay-friendly it’s worth singing Alicia Keys. And it’s the home of the Stonewall Inn, a landmark in America’s LGBT history. There are tons of gay-friendly places in New York: hotels, restaurants, bars and clubs, shops, gyms, and spas.  Not to be missed sights: Central Park, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, and loads more.

Thailand

Thailand, Kohlam

Thaliand, Kohlam

Thailand is one of the most gay-friendly countries in the world.  And it’s not just Bangkok, although it’s a favorite city for many people.  Thailand is 95% Buddhist, and Thai Buddhists seem not to have any hangups about gay visitors: they welcome gay tourists.  There are many gay-friendly establishments spread around the country.  The beaches and reefs in southern Thailand are beautiful (and so are the men!).

Dublin, Ireland

It’s a very progressive country, from the top of the semi-tropical North Island to the glacial South Island.

tulum

Tulum is a laid-back town on the Yucatan Peninsula.  The Mayans once occupied Tulum, and they were known for their tolerance of sexual diversity.  Today the attitude is similarly laissez-faire.  It is a quiet and gay-friendly alternative to places like Puerta Vallarta: you visit Tulum to chill out and to see the Mayan ruins, not to party.  In nearby Playa del Carmen, there are several gay bars.
