Borawan Beach, Pagbilao Quezon

Some people say that Borawan Beach is a portmanteau of Boracay and Palawan. Those two places must-see tourist destinations in the Philippines that boast white-sand beaches and limestone cliffs. You can see both natural wonders in this side of Quezon, which makes the place worthy of its name. But local folks would also tell you that Borawan comes from the word “bulawan,” a Visayan word for gold. Whatever it may be, Borawan Beach is a gem of an island waiting for travelers who want to get away from the crowd.

Magalawa Island Palauig, Zambales

Magalawa Island promises a picture-perfect scenery with its emerald-green waters, and long stretch of white-sand beach. There’s also a beautiful sandbar that looks even better during a colorful sunset.

Hermana Mayor, Santa Cruz Zambales

Hermana Menor, also called Makatira Island by the locals, greeted us with its crystalline turquoise and blue-green waters and a long stretch of powdery creamy white sand. Our boat docked at a crescent-shaped beach in the northeastern section of the island that was dotted with coconut palms, evergreen trees and talisay trees. The talisay trees were about to shed their leaves which had turned into a bright red-orange, giving the tropical setting an unusual but beautiful autumn feel.

Dicasalarin Cove, Baler Aurora

Dicasalarin Cove is just 30 min. away from Sabang beach and it goes right to the top of my must-visit places in Baler. It is privately owned by the Angaras. There is an entrance fee of Php 300.00 for walk-ins but if you are a
guest at Costa Pacifica, the prime resort in town also owned by the Angaras, you will only pay Php100. The cove is open from 8 in the morning until 5 in the afternoon.

Valugan Beach, Cagayan Valley

On the country’s northern most province of Batanes lies the striking Valugan Boulder Beach. The product of a Mt. Iraya, eruption over a thousand years ago, Valugan is covered in smooth rocks and boulders, creating a superb landscape one doesn’t see very often in a country like the Philippines. The views a picturesque contrast of colors from the grey rocks, deep blue ocean, and green rolling hills are absolutely breathtaking.
